How much will it cost?
Each website produced by Beacon webdesign is unique, this means the overall cost can vary from one project to the next dependant on the size and functionality of the website required.
As a rough guide to pricing, a ten page static brochure website (no database elements provided for your site) with images and all text content provided by yourself will cost around £600. This includes search engine optimisation and web hosting + domain name fees for the first year. This price is a rough estimate only as all projects are priced individually dependant on your requirements.
Database driven or user-interactive/media-rich websites will obviously incur extra cost as there is additional programming work involved.
Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your specific needs so that we can give you an accurate pricing quote.
What do I need to setup a website?
Initially, an idea of what type of website you require. Whether an ecommerce website is required, allowing visitors to place orders over the web, or a brochure website to advertise your company/organisation to visitors, we can help you make the right choice to satisfy your requirements.
To setup a website three technical elements are required: a domain name, web hosting and the site itself.
Domain name availability and registration can be handled by us, if you have a specific name in mind (i.e. http://www.mydomain.com), let us know via the contact form and we will check availability of your chosen domain name.
The initial setup of web hosting, including web space, email accounts and other technical features can all be handled by Beacon. If you prefer to handle these aspects yourself, we are happy to work with the hosting package of your choice.
What do I need to provide?
The text content of the website and any specific images/logos you require to be used within the site.
Image manipulation and optimisation for the web is part of our service, so you need not worry about the format of your photographs.
If you wish, a professional photographer can be arranged by ourselves to provide the images you desire to be included upon your website.
What happens if I don't like the website?
Beacon webdesign are acutely aware that you must be totally satisfied with the look, feel and functionality of your website.
To help us get these important aspects right, several meetings are arranged with you during the production period to discuss the progress of the site. At each stage we sign off an agreement in relation to what work has been completed and what work is to be done to satisfy your needs as a valued customer.
How will I update the website?
If you require elements of your site to be updated on a regular basis, i.e. an ecommerce website containing stock information, then we would recommend that you employ us to provide you with a dynamic database-driven website. This type of website design is ideal if you are planning to sell products online. A secure administration section can then be provided to allow you to easily update and add information to your website.
An alternative update service is provided by ourselves for a small monthly fee. All updating and general maintanence aspects of the website will then be handled by ourselves, all you have to do is let us know what changes you require and we will take care of it for you.
A dynamic news element is another option, allowing you to have a small section of the site which can be easily updated and edited by yourself.
Can I take orders over the web?
A fully functioning e-commerce website can be provided that will allow secure transactions between you and your online customers.
A range of payment transaction methods can be implemented dependant on your needs. The use of external payment services (PayPal, WorldPay, etc.), to the use of direct credit/debit card transactions in conjunction with your merchant bank-account can be employed by ourselves within your website.
